Dogs are loyal. They accompany us over years and they are valued family-members. They play with the kids, force us outside, even on rainy days, and they are happy, whenever the owners are. So, of course – when traveling or on holiday, the dog must come. More and more hosts on the island of Rügen know that and are well-prepared. Chalk cliff, dodden meadows and miles of sand or natural beaches – these are the landscape’s highlights on the island of Rügen. A dog is the perfect partner to discover all this.

Dogs are permitted on the beach, on the island of Rügen. They fight enthusiastically with the Baltic Sea waves and insist on participating in the building of sand castles. Whenever they need action, they give their owner a little push with their wet dog nose. It’s after all the beach walk, that makes the sunbath a pleasure. At least one beach segment is reserved for our four-legged friends in each of the Baltic Sea resorts Göhren, Baabe, Binz, Sellin and Thiessow. From October till April they can even be off the leash and can run around freely. In summer, the numerous natural beaches invite to take the Baltic Sea coast with your dog by storm.

The island of Rügen is an adventure: wild and romantic locations, mystical places and magnificent observation points invite you to do trips into nature all year round. While master lets his gaze wander into the bodden landscape, the dogs eagerly stick their noses into just every meadow flower.
